Fascinating experience where we will learn about the Andean life and the traditional activities in Misminay.
Visit one of the most authentic villages in the highlands, women and men still wear their colorful costumes and speak Quechua language, women are excellent weavers and men hard working farmers.
Learn about the ancestral process of weaving Andean textiles made from Alpaca and sheep's wool dyed with plants and natural minerals, today's weavers have retained most of the techniques and patterns from ancient times, each fabric is unique and represent the skill, spirit and history of each weaver.
After the weaving demonstration we will walk to a farming local land to experience and learn about the ancestral techniques and ancient tools used in the agricultural activities.
At mid day we will taste the Pachamanca, which is the traditional lunch of farmers in the highlands
Pachamanca is a typical way of cooking, the dish is based on beef, chicken and lamb spiced with "huacatay" a traditional Andean herb, all this meats including potatoes, faba beans, plantains and cheese are cooked in an underground oven, this conventional method use a base of pre heated stones that make the food taste natural, very different from the typical food of the city.
Enjoy this exceptional experience looking spectacular views of the Andean Mountains in front of you, as you take a short walk to the look at point of the community to see the terraces of Moray, an agricultural experimentation center built by our ancestors many years ago.
